Reality Check

Ahhhhhhhh! My vacay was beyond fabulous. Tons of relaxing and lots of family time made for a fantastic week. The weather was so-so and I am sad to report that I didn't come back with an awesome tan. On the flip side, Little Red didn't come back burned to a crisp. He loved every minute from packing his coota-case (suitcase) to the ariporch (airport) to the whales(waves) to the sunscream (sunscreen) to being with his favewit (favorite) aunts. He wallered in the sand, swam like a fish and napped like a champ. This mama was a happy camper.

Now, I am back to reality and a mountainous pile of stuff on my desk. Lovely. Good thing the weekend is upon us. I am easing back into this, folks. Mr. Sass's daughter is here to visit for a few weeks, so we'll be enjoying plenty of girl time together. Life is good!

Sister Sister

My baby sister, Becca, is graduating today. Tear. I feel old, proud, happy and sad all at the same time, but I'll save the major mush for her birthday! I am so stinkin proud of her. She will be heading to Ole Miss for college in the fall where she will major in forensic chemistry. For real. Anything to do with chemistry gives me a panic attack, but she will rock it. She is smart and beautiful and will no doubt be successful at whatever she decides to do. Plus, I get to go on one heck of a vacay to help her celebrate. I'm sure there will be tons of pictures. I might even do some blogging while I'm there. We'll just have to see if I'm able to tear myself away from the sun & sand long enough.

Vacation Clarification

Don't be too impressed with me for taking Little Red to Puerto Rico. All my babysitters are going with us! This trip is my youngest sister's graduation trip. You know, while all the other graduates are partying hard in Panama City or Cancun, our fam will be chillin in San Juan. We went on a cruise for my graduation a few (cough) years ago. Unfortunately, Mr. Sass won't be making the trip. He has to work. Bummer, I know. We will miss him (maybe), but we won't let his absence get us down.

After all....

This will be the view from my oh so comfy bed.

This is the swim up bar I will visit while I'm catching rays.

And this is the beach I'll be chillaxin to the max on while cabana boys serve me drinks with umbrellas and rub sunscreen on my back.

Rough life, I know. Coming back to reality will be a real buzz kill.

Ramblings of Little Red

Last night we had Little Ceaser's pizza for dinner. Seriously, you can't beat a $5 meal with a stick. I got pepperoni even though I can't stand those lil buggers. I just take 'em off and give them to Mr. Sass or the dogs. No biggie. When Little Red saw his slice of pie, he immediately freaked out shrieking "I don't wike macaronis!" At first I was confused, then I realized he was talking about the pepperonis. Ha!

We went to my sister Becca's graduation lunch at church yesterday. As soon as LR saw the balloons and decorations, he proclaimed "Dis is a party!" He ran around so full of himself looking cute as can be. He did not want to leave and repeatedly has asked to go back to church so he can party. He might be slightly confused.

We are headed to Puerto Rico on Friday. I am beyond excited. Little Red can't wait to get on the airplane. He wants to go RIGHT NOW. I totally understand where he is coming from. Patience isn't our best virtue, but we're working on it. So much laundry and packing to do and not enough time to do it all. Somehow, I'm sure we'll manage, though.

Good Golly, Miss Molly

Today is my sister Molly's 20th birthday. First and foremost, I want to apologize to her for getting married the day before her 16th birthday. Talk about stealing her thunder. It wasn't really planned that way, Mollz. It was just the only day the wedding planner and the beautiful beach house were both available. Hey, at least you got a beach trip outta the deal, right? Next, I want to wish her the bestest birthday ever (until next year of course). Let's face it 20 is a totally in between kinda year. You are no longer a teen, but you don't get the perks of being an adult yet.

Warning- this could get slightly mushy, so I understand if you want to skip ahead!

Dear Molly,

You are beautiful inside and out. You are so important to our family and God has blessed us with you. The day you came home from the hospital I never could have imagined the truly amazing woman that you have become. Ramsey loves you so much and it makes my heart so happy to know that you will always be such an important part of his life. I am so lucky to have you as my sister. I love every moment I get to spend with you and am looking forward to this summer so much. I am proud of everything you have accomplished and all the great decisions you have made. I am grateful for all the good times we have had and am beyond excited about what the future holds for you. Happy Birthday, precious sister. I love you so very much.

Love, Cassie

Don't say I didn't warn ya about the mush factor.Sentimental and mushy isn't really my bag of chips, but the occasion seemed to call for it. Plus, if you know Molly you totally understand.

Presh!

Fireman & nurse...Perfect combo!
LR loves his Aunt Ma-wee!

She's just as much a prepneck as me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG LIL SIS!!!!!!!

Psh.....It Happens!

Yesterday was one of those days. It was so bad that it almost became humorous. My boss was in a horrible mood, which made work no fun a'tall. Everything that could go wrong did. Then, on my way home from work I stopped at the ever so classy Dollar General, where I was falsely and rudely accused of stealing a diet coke by a hussy with a bad attitude. Shut the front door! I proceeded to make a huge mess trying to prepare dinner resulting in multiple broken dishes. As if that wasn't enough, Little Red slipped in the bathtub and gashed his chin open. In true LR fashion, my kiddo was way tougher than his mama. I proceeded to have a glass (or several) of el cheapo wine. Don't you judge me!

Today is much better, thanks. Mr. Sass and I are celebrating 4 years of wedded bliss. In some ways I can't believe how quickly the time has passed and in other ways it seems like we've been married foreva. I am super lucky to have such a wonderful friend and hubs. Here's to many more!

Our first dance as Mr. & Mrs. Sass. I swear I have a dress on.
I jus't don't have any other wedding pics on this computer.

We will be eating out tonight, so I won't be a hazard in the kitchen. I will NOT (ever) got to Dollar General. LR will not be bathing and the boss man is out of the office today. Things are totally looking up. Who cares if my kid is the smelly kid or that I have to pay $5 for an anniversary card? My sanity is a tad more important (today).

Save The Drama For Your Mama

Little Red has a flair for the dramatic.

Last night I wouldn't give him candy til he finished his dinner. He looked into my eyes with the most pathetic look on his face and said, "Mommy, you dust bwoke my heart."

Seriously, where does he come up with this stuff?

Blast Off!

The weekend was very busy and totally successful. We partied it up at The Space & Rocket Center for Little Red's Birthday and Bush's Graduation. LR was in heaven checking out the rockets and other space paraphernalia. He rode the rides, climbed the rock wall and had tons of fun.
Congrats to Bush & Keke! We are so stinkin' proud. They are now on a cruise ship headed for the Bahamas. I don't know anyone that deserves it more...

Check out the shirt. It says "Actually I am a Rocket Scientist" Haha! I don't know what LR is doing in this photo...

Check out the cake! Holy cuteness, batman.

See the kid in the very middle, Yep, the little bitty one one with the red Crocs. That would be the fearless Little Red. He LOVED this ride.

LR climbing the rock wall. They tried to tell him he wasn't big enough, but he wasn't hearing it. He climbed higher than most of the big kids.

Mr. Sass and LR checking out the moon exhibit...

LR's favorite exhibit. This is the donation box. Ha!

I had a lovely Mother's Day with my mom. I am so lucky to have her. Mama, you are the best!

This May Get CrAzY!

I can't believe my baby is almost 3. Sigh. Guess he's notsomuch a baby anymore. Friday is the big day. I have ordered firetruck cupcakes for him to take to school. He is gonna be stoked! We will be having a mini birthday party at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville on Saturday. For this I have ordered a rocket ship cake, of course. Our good friend Bush is graduating with his Aerospace Engineering degree on Saturday. Can you say rocket scientist? Since Little Red is into all things space and Bushy is sweet enough to share the limelight they will be having a joint party. I'm pretty sure Little Red will think it's all about him (which is ok by me). The month of May is just so crazy for us this year. Take a look at my calendar~

May 2- Jake & KT's wedding- DONE
May 8- Little Red & BBop's Birthday & Lil Big Sis Rebecca's Prom
May 9- Bush Graduation/ Little Red Bday Party, then Little Red & B-Bop Bday Dinner
May 10- Mother's Day
May 14- My Anniversary
May 15- Lil Big Sis Molly's 20th Birthday
May 17- Lil Big Sis Rebecca's Graduation Luncheon
May 20- Lil Big Sis Rebecca's High School Graduation
May 21-27 Family Vacay to San Juan, Puerto Rico

And somewhere in there I am supposed to squeeze working, blogging, cooking, cleaning, packing, etc. Yeah right! I admit that I am totally pumped about all the excitement going down this month and I'm so grateful that May of 2009 is so much happier than May of 2008, but I am also looking forward to the lazy daze of June. One thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of picture worthy events. Get ready!

Wedding Crashers

What a weekend! We partied it up in Auburn (ew!) for Jake and Katie's wedding (yay!). Everything was perfect. The mansion was straight out of a fairytale. The guests were fabulous. The food was delish. The flowers were beautiful and the bride was breath taking. I even got the honor of doing her makeup, which turned out beautifully. Duh! Who am I kidding? I was a nervous wreck. Seriously, she will look at these picture forever. No pressure!

Yesterday was a long day, though. We spent 7 plus hours driving all over the state. We had to pit stop at Mr. Sass's parents to pick up Little Red and wait out some nasty weather. We didn't get home til way too late and I am struggling today, so just sit back and check out the wedding fun~

Helping Katie put on her grandmother's jewelry...
The gorgeous bride. She was stunning...

Getting my drank on at the reception...

Keke and me cheezing (as always)...

Dance Party USA. I was slightly concerned (hopeful) that someone might fall in the pool. No such luck...

The beautiful fountain outside the mansion. The place was incredible.

The send off...Jake and Katie are now at an ecolodge in Costa Rica. Just chillin in the rain forest getting their honeymoon on.
